Having served immigrants many years, and knowing that my parish is 47% Hispanic, (yes, here in Boulder!) I have a passion about the immigration issue. Therefore I highly recommend the October 17th film, “Wetback, The Undocumented Documentary” for the development of our social conscience. It is presented by the University of Colorado's People of Color Film Series. Here's their ad for this film: "Persistent massive unemployment has left millions of Central Americans desperately impoverished, with little choice but to migrate to Canada and the U.S. Wetback is an exemplary and committed documentary that offers incisive insights into the politics of poverty, the forces of repression and the will to survive. Facilitators: Cleo Estrada & Julian Martinez"
The Center for Multicultural Affairs invites campus/community members to critically explore and process films/documentaries about the diversity in our lives as University members. A great opportunity for faculty utilization (giving students extra credits for attendance!) All Films are from noon to 2:00p.m. and held in the Center for Multicultural Affairs Conference room(Willard 115A).
